Philip Brock, Director
B.Com, CFA, CFP
Since his entry in the financial industry in 2004, Philip has advised many families on retirement planning, personal credit, and investment management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Ottawa and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. In addition, he has been practicing financial planning as a CFP® certificant since 2007. Philip is happy to offer his services in French, English or Spanish.
Prior to Colonnade, Jan was the President and CEO of Ionalytics Corporation, a venture-backed start-up which built analytical instruments used to accelerate the drug discovery and development process. He guided Ionalytics’ transformation from a research organization to a product company and led it through an acquisition by ThermoFisher.
Jan Kaminski, MBA, BSc
Jan’s previous venture-backed experience was with FastLane Technologies, a developer of enterprise performance management software. As President and CEO, Jan built a global sales and support organization which grew to over 1,000 corporate customers. He led FastLane through a successful sale and integration with Quest Software.
Jan Kaminski holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University.
Our grandmother was a resident at St. Pat’s, and we saw first-hand how devoted and considerate the staff and volunteers were. We strongly support their efforts to create a solid financial future so that St. Pat’s continues to be an extraordinary place for elders in our community.
Rosa Iuliano, Director
Rosa Maria Iuliano is a well-rounded Senior Accounting and business leader; Chartered Professional Accountant and Tax Partner at Collins Barrow Ottawa LLP. With over 20 years of experience, Rosa was the first female partner at Collins Barrow Ottawa and leads a tax practice that empowers clients in addition to being their trusted business advisor. Rosa’s expertise and encouragement allows her clients to be successful in their respective areas of business.
Rosa is a subject matter expert in the area of taxation and shares her knowledge as an active lecturer, seminar leader, media contributor and guest speaker on many tax related topics. A winner of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario’s Award of Distinction, and Ottawa Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 Award, Rosa believes in promoting her profession, and giving back to her community by volunteering both her time and talents. Rosa believes in team work, acting for the common good, and inspiring and developing others to be leaders themselves. Rosa is also a founding member of St. Pat’s Leaders ‘N Pearls a philanthropic giving circle.
Rosa is the proud mother of two beautiful girls, and with her supportive husband Carlo, they strive to show their children that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Sandy Ouellette, Director
Sandy believes that her role as a professor is to help students correlate the strategies and tactical requirements behind event planning and learn to apply those in the real work of Event Management. She strives to design lessons in a manner that engages students and encourages interaction where possible, while ensuring that the learning is relevant to careers in the field of Event Management. Along with the Event Management team, Sandy works with students individually and in groups to inspire them to create impressive themed events – to date, students in the program have raised in excess of $850,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation, Ottawa Chapter through the planning and hosting of these events.
Sandy Ouellette – Algonquin College Professor, Event Management Program –
School of Hospitality & Tourism
Sandy Ouellette has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University as well as Management Studies Diplomas from Queen’s and Carleton University. Prior to joining Algonquin College, Sandy held the position of Global Event Marketing Manager for both Nokia Corporation and Mitel Networks in addition to other management positions within the Ottawa high tech sector.
Sandy is very proud of the work she, with her colleagues have achieved as Professors of Event Management at Algonquin College. In November 2010, the team won Ottawa’s AFP Philanthropic Award for their work with the Children’s Wish Foundation. In 2011, the team was awarded the Algonquin College President’s Star award, and in 2012, won the Algonquin College Outstanding Team award. Sandy is Chair of the Special Events Committee.
Janet Morris, President and CEO of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa
Janet brings a wealth of knowledge and years of experience, not only in the long-term care sector but also a strong history of working within in the broader health care community. Janet’s clinical professional roots were spent as an Occupational Therapist working primarily with seniors in hospitals and in the community.
Janet Morris, President and CEO of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa
Janet’s education and leadership skills in the areas of healthcare management , governance, and human resources have lead to progressively responsible leadership roles. Janet has held leadership positions in Long Term Care Homes for the past 20 years; most recently as the Executive Director of Longfields Manor.
She has been actively involved with the Champlain Local Health Integration Network on various committees and sits as a member of the Regional Hospice Palliative Care Program and the Nepean Rideau Osgoode Community Resource Centre Board of Directors .
Kathy worked in the education field for over 30 years, working with children who have learning disabilities, are developmentally delayed, and have autism. Kathy passion is ensuring the best possible care and quality of life for seniors. She is the current Treasurer at Champlain Region Family Councils’ Network which advocates for the needs, rights and interests of residents living in long-term care homes. She is also a member of the Mission and Ethics Committee at St. Patrick’s Home and a Pastoral Care volunteer. Kathy is a very active individual in the community sitting on many different boards in related fields.
